1,069 robots broke a Guinness World Record for the “most robots dancing simultaneously” in Guangzhou, China. The humanoid machines were created by WL Intelligent Technology who lined up the synchronised machines to perform a perfectly choreographed dance routine for the attempt.

The attempt was nearly perfect but, as you can see in the video, a few of the robots – which are called ‘Dobi’ – fell down during the dynamic show, and these had to be deducted from the final record total.

WL Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd organised the challenge to demonstrate their latest robotic technology. As well as having the ability to dance, Dobi can talk, do Tai Chi and many other human-like actions. Previously, the record was held by another Chinese company, Ever Win Company & Ltd, with a total of 1,007.
