Gorillaz fans have yet another cause to celebrate this month, thanks to the launch of their Spirit House – an immersive experience of the band’s home.Gorillaz Spirit HouseThe virtual band has been pretty quiet since its 2011 album, ‘The Fall’, but with the release of four new tracks last week and recent return to the stage, this is the latest indication that the group is truly back on form.

Bringing Gorillaz’s virtual world to life, the Spirit House series is a celebration of their forthcoming new album, ‘Humanz. Thanks to the collaboration with Sonos, fans can enter the band’s virtual home and experience the new album in real-life.

Transforming ‘raw spaces’ in a number of cities across the world, the Spirit Houses will recreate the trippy world through new music, physical installations and projection mapping, as well as by installing Murdoc, 2D, Russel and Noodle’s lounge.

The free experience will kick off on April 21 in Brooklyn and make further appearances in Berlin and Amsterdam – but if you can’t wait until then, you can get a taste of what the houses will be like from the video for ‘Saturnz Barz(above).
