Baileys has celebrated the release of its brand new real Belgian chocolate liqueur with a week-long immersive experience in London, dedicated to the multi-sensory pleasure of chocolate. Bar Chocolat, which was open to the public this September in London, saw handpicked visionaries Bompas & Parr, Tabitha Denholm, Petra Storrs, Amelia Rope, Lou Hayter and Blanch & Shock join forces to create a sensory journey in taste.

The converted warehouse in Covent Garden space featured a large-scale edible art installation created by Artisan chocolatier Amelia Rope and stylist Petra Storrs, a Bompas & Parr scent and flavour experience, music director Tabitha Denholm’s first-ever video installation ‘The Banquet’ and a musical score from pop ingénue Lou Hayter.

Petra Storrs – who has created memorable costumes and sets for the likes of Lady Gaga and all Paloma Faith’s album covers – created an elaborately staged bar space that provided a beautiful homage to the drinking experience, adding theatre to the first time that visitors sipped Bompas & Parr’s Baileys Chocolat Luxe Rococo Serve.

Over the course of the six days, a unique experimental supperclub from Blanch & Shock took pride of place. Combining theatre and innovative cuisine, the three-course dinner was laid directly on to a long U-shaped table that saw the lucky diners enjoy a series of gastronomic delights.

The South London experimentalists – Josh and Mike who have previously worked at Noma – brought all their René Redzepi-taught skills to a feast for the taste buds and the eyes – eating a Pret salad will never be the same.

Baileys Chocolat Luxe is the first time that real Belgian chocolate has been fused with alcohol in a way that delivers the multi-sensory experience of chocolate in a glass. Baileys Chocolat Luxe is available now exclusively in Harvey Nichols and nationwide in October. For more information visit
