Gap Year
The Gap Year – often derided for the privileged few on their gap yahh – is not all about a yuppy on a rickshaw; it can be a glorious thing. Traveling the world with an open mind, an adrenaline-fuelled sense of adventure, the promise of meeting new people and seeing sights that some can only dream of.
Celesty Le Cantabile, for her Digital Graphic Communication Honors Degree at Hong Kong Baptist University, wanted to celebrate this and the personal connections made between traveler and locals whilst backpacking for 10 months. Whilst visiting 14 countries and over 40 cities, Celesty went to local train terminals to see if strangers would help a traveler in need, the result – Ciao Traveler.
