Napoli’s Toledo Metro Station
The Toledo Metro Station in Napoli, Italy has been transformed into a seemingly underwater abyss after a new design by Oscar Tusquets Blanca. The floors and walls of the underground space have been covered in varying shades of blue Bisazza mosaics. The work is part of Napoli’s Art Stations.
Metro Art Stations is a government scheme to making public transport centres more attractive and giving commuters a chance to get up-close and personal with contemporary art. It has seen a series of installations by artists including William Kentridge, Bob Wilson and Achille Cevoli across the city.
