Sidewalk Talk is a project from Danish photographer Jonas Normann who started it to tell his story of the people and faces he met on the street. Normann takes photos of new people everyday from every walk of life, getting to know people who under other circumstances would never have talked to him, let alone have their photo taken. In his latest video project, ‘A tribute to the people of Vejle’, Normann uses the residents of his home town as the subject matter. What the film shows is a portrait of the variety of people in each town or city, from the cute kid to the seemingly far-right tattooed man to the cute young girl. With no time to prepare, the subjects are caught in their own clothes, in their own space, but in Normann’s time, the results are compelling.
