The Neighbourhood – Sweater Weather

Los Angeles-based indie quintet The Neighbourhood are a band on the rise. Their easy on the ear sounds and stunning videography has had the don of indie music, Zane Lowe, singing their praises recently and it is easy to see why. The Neighbourhood are fronted by 20-year-old actor-cum-musician Jesse James Rutherford, who until recently was part of a hip-hop band called The Good Boys. His new band’s first single, ‘Female Robbery’ got peoples attention as much as the lack of information sent via their PR, the band seemed intent on following the Wu Lyf method of creating intrigue by giving little away – but it was the sounds that really brought people their way.

Second release, ‘Sweater Weather’ is a dreamy mix of crooning indie vocals, chilled out beach vibes always associated with L.A. bands, as well as a splattering of the RnB and hip-hop that Rutherfood obviously loves so much. The video for ‘Sweater Weather’ is the work of Daniel Iglesias Jr. and Zack Sekuler, in collaboration with I Versus Eye and photographer Justin Bettman, a long-term friend of Rutherfood’s. It’s as beautiful as the track and will no doubt have you pressing rewind, a lot!

I literally haven’t stopped listening to the dog repeatedly on Soundcloud & YouTube. No luck finding them on iTunes, and your website is the only one that contains info on the band themselves! Top investigating! ‘Sweater Weather’ is bloody beautiful.
