Last year, Channel 4 approached Dev Hynes about being interviewed for a music special on one of his many monikers Blood Orange and my favourite album of 2011, Coastal Grooves, the latest from the man formerly known for Test Icicles, Lightspeed Champion and CANT. Being the consummate uber-creative, Devonté Hynes decided to take matters into his own hands – it is well worth the ten minutes of your time, trust me.

In his own words; “Being the dick that I am.. I said “sure”, but only if I make it myself and send them the complete package to air. Surprisingly, they said yes, and so it aired on British TV late last year.” Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz and featuring many of Dev’s inner NYC sanctum, including Neon Music, Aaron Pfenning and Slutever blogger Karley Sciortino with visuals that mirror Dev’s own blog, from beautiful arty shots to fuzzy blurred images of everyday life.
